CHERYL BURKE DANCE SPARKLED FOR SHAPE UP SF
SAN FRANCISCO, CA---

Cheryl Burke, a Bay Area native, two time Emmy nominee and two time champion of the hit television show Dancing with the Stars launched her first dance studio with a Gala Grand Opening benefiting Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Shape Up San Francisco Initiative.

Held on Friday, April 4, 2008, the event was attended by Cheryl and her celebrity dance partner, Cristián de la Fuente, Mayor Gavin Newsom, Jerry Rice, Drew Lachey and Tom Bergeron. Program included professional dance performances by US Ballroom and Latin Dance Champions.

Shape Up SF is a public private partnership working to prevent obesity and associated chronic diseases by increasing the awareness of and opportunities for increased physical activity and improved nutrition where people live, play, work and learn. (www.shapeupsf.org).
